On Sunday, 11th October, 15 female ambassadors posted to Ireland from different countries and continents wished to convey a special message to their younger sisters - the girls of Ireland and around the world.  They did so to give due recognition to the International Day of the Girl, as well as to its main protagonists – young females. Inspired by their own experiences, they shared a message of self-acceptance, self-belief, and self-respect to the women of the future.

The video, addressed to girls age 10-16, opens with this year’s IDG motto ‘My Voice, Our Equal Future’. It concludes with the participating ambassadors sharing photos of their younger selves.

Developed and produced by the Embassy of Poland, the video features the female heads of the diplomatic missions of the following countries: Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cyprus, Finland, Germany, Greece, Nigeria, Palestine, Poland, Romania, South Africa, and Ukraine.
